Terrence Dion McRae aka Terry

Terrence Dion McRae aka Terry (54) son of the late James McRae, Sr. & Eunice Marie Reynolds entered eternal rest on Monday, February 10, 2025.  He began his life on Sunday, June 28,1970 in Washington, DC.

Terrence received his education from Chevy Chase High School of Bethesda, Maryland later attending Kentucky University of Lexington, Kentucky. Furthering his academics, he played semi-pro football with The Carolina Stallions (defensive tackle position).  He always had a heart to serve, and five years of his life was dedicated to The United States Army.

Terrence was employed with The Better Days Ahead Community Center in The City of Rocky Mount for thirteen years.  While in residing in Rocky Mount, he joined his lovely wife in attending The Word Tabernacle under the leadership of Pastor James D. Gailliard.   Later on, they both were guided to East End Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mack E. Battle.

Terrence presence in a room would bring joy and laughter. He had a wit sense of humor with playful jokes.  Some other attributes to describe him would be dependable and a good listener.  He was very artistic doing tattoos and freestyle drawings. Along with the love cars and wrestling, he had a deep love for sports. (being a diehard fan of The Washington Commanders).  When he was not attending National Football League games, he would be coaching children’s football and basketball teams.  He believed in making a difference in the lives of children to help keep them positive and motivated.

Terrence preceded in death along with his parents, Minnie Reynolds (grandmother) and James McRae, Jr. (brother)

Terrence leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted and loving wife of ten years Cynette McRae; two sons, Zy’Keith Joyner (Tiara) and David McRae; three daughters, Shaina Bryant (Kenderic), Keanna Joyner (Mark) and Kayla Hill (Malcolm); one sister, Wynee Joyner (Gerald); three brothers, Larry Willams (Felicia), Cleveland McRae and Tyrone McRae (Stephanie); four uncles, Robert McRae, Daniel McRae, Emmett McRae and Elliot McRae; nine grandchildren (affectionately known as their PaPa), Keonne, Jaqwon, Kason, Kenderick, Mason, Ke’ Mazi, KeNyah, Sophia and Marleigh; a very large host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, godsons, goddaughters, cousins and dedicated special friends.
