Melvin Williams Obituary

Melvin Jerome Williams, son of the late Noah Williams and Mary Burden Williams, was born on November 30, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Melvin transitioned from this physical life on June 28, 2022 surrounded by family. 

Melvin graduated from Carver Vocational High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He became a member of the Masonic Congress, King Solomon Lodge No. 3 on December 2, 1958 at the age of eighteen. During his life, he worked for various employers in North Carolina, but his most memorable are times spent as a police officer and security detail for a prominent judge in the city of Baltimore.

Melvin retired from Signol Steel, a steel manufacturer, where he was employed as a Splitter.

Melvin leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Shelby of the home; four children: Michele McNair (John, III) of Baltimore, Maryland; Lakendrick Revis (Christian) of Zebulon, North Carolina; Sheneka Brightwell (Joe) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Linwood Revis of Wilson, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren: John McNair, IV (Sherrise), Melvin McNair (Shanel), Khadijah McNair (Trey), Masiyah Tucker, Kameron Revis, Carmelo Revis, Lauryn Howie, Kayden Revis, Kensley Revis, Kaliyah Revis, Auriyelle Revis and Ashlyn Revis; three great-grandchildren: Melvin McNair, Jr., Sahmir McNair, and Trey Quick Jr.; sister-in-laws: Carolyn Wilcox, Brenda Tuten, Lorraine Phillips, Jeanette Phillips; two brother-in-laws: Leroy E. Phillips and Raymond E. Phillips; Close cousins Mildred Hannon, Linwood Burden, Hermain and Derrick Bethea; two brothers from another mother James Lee Brown, Sr. and Randy Hawkins.
