Mary Brenda Beverly Trudell “PENNY” was born on June 27, 1947. Penny was the daughter of the late Robert Samuel Beverly and Enolia Patterson Thymes. She started her education in the Rapides Parish School System and was a graduate of Peabody Magnet High School. She attended Louisiana Vocational School, and then furthered her education at LSUA where she received a degree as a Registered Nurse. She spent her life caring for others and mastering the field of psychiatric nursing.
She started her nursing career at Pinecrest Developmental Center, then Central State Hospital. After 43 years and numerous accolades, she retired from her nursing career at Red River Treatment Center in 2018. She had much faith in God and received Christ as her Personal Savior at an early age and continued to stand boldly on His promises. She was a faithful member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. She had a love of sewing and simple things. She was considered very loyal and dedicated to the ones she loved.
On January 10, 2021, God called her home. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Martha Lee Jenkins and Rosaline Walker and one beloved son, Kerry Lee Trudell.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 45 years, Robert Trudell; one daughter, Kellie Williams; three sons, Robert (Renee) Beverly, Morris (Wanda) Beverly and Patrick (Paula) Williams; one godson, Troy Davidson; one brother, Huey Walker, Jr.; a special longtime friend like a sister, Teresa Merritt; grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and a host of kindhearted nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
