Joshua David Moyer, beloved son and brother, transitioned peacefully in his sleep July 31, 2023. In his youth Joshua was an accomplished athlete, the starting quarterback on any football team he was on, and a starting forward on any basketball team he was on. He graduated from East Grand Rapids (MI) High School.
Joshua was a dock master at Grand Haven, MI. After graduating with a B.A. from the University of Michigan, he founded and managed the Bruise Gallery, first in Ypsilanti, MI, and then in Ann Arbor, MI, representing artists from around America. After closing the gallery, he joined the ranks of car salesmen and worked for numerous dealers in the Ann Arbor area, ultimately being ranked in the top 1% of used car salesmen in America.
Joshua loved animals and was known for his skill in training dogs. After moving to Winston-Salem, where he worked for the Winston Salem Dash, he became an avid pétanque player. At the time of his death, he was living in Rocky Mount, NC, under the loving care of Ms. Paulette Davis.
Joshua is survived by his father, Robert Purcell Moyer; his mother, Linda Lee Heckters Moyer; his sister, Lisa Moyer Haggerty; two nieces, Erin and Leah Haggerty; and his former wife, Kendra Moyer. He was preceded in death by his beloved dog Nesta just this past February.
Joshua also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
