Gloria Letetia Scott-Richardson

Gloria Letetia Scott-Richardson known affectionately to many, as “Glory” was born on March 28th, 1955 to the late Clenton Louis Scott and the late Inez Hilliard Scott in Halifax County, North Carolina. God called her unto himself and she answered His call on June 4th, 2021.
 
Gloria began her education in the Halifax County School System. As a young child, she moved to New York. She accepted Christ early in life and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY. She received her High School diploma from John Dewey High School and her BA in Early Childhood Education from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. While attending college, Gloria met “Donald”, her devoted husband of 43 years. From their union, they were blessed with one child, Monique.

 
Gloria wore many hats in the workforce: Funeral Director, Life Insurance Agent, Substitute Teacher, Landlord, and Caretaker to name a few. She took pride in being a Funeral Director for Hilliard Funeral Home for over 30 years. She was a very loving wife and mother. Despite having only one child, she was “Mom” to many. Always caring and compassionate, she aided many senior citizens throughout her life especially those in and around her home and work communities. Of the many wonderful things about Gloria, at the top of everyone’s list was her smile, which could light up a room and she always had one to share with any and everyone.

Gloria leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Ralph “Donald”, her daughter, Monique, her three siblings, Mary, Floyd, and Pandora and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
