Elaine Lambert Obituary

Elder Elaine Lambert, born Elaine Howard on July 20, 1953, in New Orleans to the proud parents of Reverend Felton and Thelma Lee Howard. She was a survivor from the very beginning; born prematurely and defying the odds.

Though born in New Orleans, she lived in Baton Rouge until the age of 4, when her Parents and Brothers; Junior Howard, Ronald Howard, and Micheal Howard relocated to Portland Oregon. There she attended Highland Elementary, Sabin Elementary, and Grant High School. Elaine's exceptional academic prowess shone brightly, particularly in the realm of mathematics. Her dedication to learning and her passion for numbers set her apart as an outstanding student, laying the foundation for her future successes.

At the young age of 19 she married the love of her life George James Lambert. Together, they built a life full of love and family, raising their children; Carmen, Cleotis, Georvohn, Inez, and Jazzmine, while fostering over 7 kids throughout the years. They remained married for 52 years until her passing.

Elder Elaine was a dedicated member of the Emmanuel Temple Pentecostal Church, where she found her calling in ministry.
Elaine served in ministry by working the altar, ministering to souls in need of prayer and deliverance, and ushering for several years. Her niche was ushering and altar work at funerals, particularly for gang members and their families. Highly recommended for her ability to comfort non-church goers, she also worked at the HOPE House in aiding individuals in recovery. Elaine earned an Associate of Theology in Religious Education and was later ordained as an Elder under Bishop A.A. Wells. Elder Elaine earned a total of 5 degrees and maintained a successful career at the Internal Revenue Service for 21 years.

Elder Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and loving friend, always singing happy birthday to her loved ones and sharing her love with those around her. She was a woman of many talents, always doing young girls' hair, having what they call “growing hands”.

In her later years, Elder Elaine and her husband relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where she continued her ministry work at Destiny Christian Center International. She found a new home in the church and was beloved by all who knew her.

On Saturday, December 28, 2024, Elder Elaine Lambert departed from this world, to be with God, at home in Atlanta, Georgia. Elaine's sudden passing left a hole in the hearts of her family and community, but her spirit and love will live on in the memories of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

Preceding her in death are her parents; Reverend Felton and Thelma Lee Howard; brother; Junior Howard; brother; Michael Howard; sister; Veronica Howard; brother; Milton Staley; her close sister-in-law; Earlene Lambert.
