Addie Mae Johnson (86) was born January 10,1936 in Edgecombe County, North Carolina to the late Claude Johnson,Sr. and AddieThomas Johnson.
Addie, affectionately known by her family as “Little One” entered her eternal rest on February 25, 2022.
Addie was educated in the Edgecombe County School systems and was a 1955 graduate of W.A. Pattillo High School in Tarboro, North Carolina.
After high school, she later moved to New York and worked at Creedmoor State Psychiatric Center in Queens, NY as a Nursing Assistant. She returned home and attended Edgecombe Community College as a Typing Student. She retired from Black and Decker in Tarboro, North Carolina upon moving back.
Addie became a Jehovah’s Witness in 1981. She enjoyed going out in field service preaching and teaching the word of Jehovah, crocheting, making jewelry, and was the founder of “Wonder Fiber” massage products.
Addie was preceded in death by her loving siblings, Claude Johnson Jr., Mattie B. Knight, and Melvin Johnson.
Addie leaves a rich legacy with respect to humanity, generosity and most of all her love and faith in Jehovah to cherish her fond memories of her life to: one son, Ronald Ray Johnson (Delnora) of Pinetops, NC; two daughters, Joann Harris (James) of Fayetteville, NC; and Vida V. Johnson of the home; three sisters, Margaret J. Ruffin, Irene Johnson and Mary J. Brevard (Freddie) all of Tarboro, NC; one brother, Milton Johnson (Eunice) of Rocky Mount; six grandchildren, Desma, Toby, Reginald, Rontrell, Jay, and Allen; seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
