Andre Tremayne (Dre) Horne

Born to Helen Jean Horne and Leslie “Pop” Horne, Andre Tremayne Horne (Dre) started this journey on Wednesday, December 22, 1971.  Andre's gentle spirit departed this life on Sunday, April 7, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love and compassion.

Dre brought warmth and kindness into the lives of all who knew him. His generous heart and unwavering support touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. He attended Nash Rocky Mount Public School Systems.     

Dre was in watch care at East End Missionary Baptist Church where The Rev. Mack E. Battle is the Pastor. Dre experienced some tough love years as a growing young man, but if you knew him then you knew he had an immeasurable amount of love for the neighborhood, namely the Holly Street Neighborhood Community and its people. Andre leaves to cherish a legacy of love, his lovely twin daughters, Makayla and Makiya Battle of Wilson, NC.; two brothers, Antonious Horne (LaTisha) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Jamarr Perry (Marley) of Rocky Mount, NC.; one sister, Charlene Morrison of Charlote, NC.;  four uncles, Otis Williams, Jr. (Doretha) of Battleboro, NC., Charles O. Williams, Sr. of Rocky Mount, NC., Lloyd Lyons (Elecsta) of Rocky Mount, NC. and Moses Horne (Sylvia) of Wilson, NC.; one aunt, Lena Pope of Richmond, VA.; seven nieces, eight nephews and a host of cousins' other relatives and friends.   

Dre's passing leaves an irreplaceable absence in his loved ones’ lives. Just a few of the things he will be fondly remembered for are the preparation for grilling food and feeding people, like his beloved grandmother The late Sarah Beatrice Coley-Williams did. When it was time to eat, you knew you were going to get some encouragement and motivational conversations. Dre always looked forward to the community Thanksgiving dinners.
